Public activity of university of the Far East of Russia as the factor of integration in the international scientific space

The objectives of the study described in the article are analysis of the role of the universities of the Russian Far East in the international scientific space from the position of scientific indicators generally accepted in international and Russian practice. Methods and methodology. In the course of the study of the stated topic, the methodology of a comprehensive study was applied, including methods of comparative analysis, analysis of bibliometric indicators, statistical data reflected in official monitoring and national and foreign information and analytical systems. Results and scientific novelty. The article summarizes the approaches to assessing the indicators of scientific activity, analyzed the role of the universities of the Russian Far East in the international scientific space. To evaluate the modern role of universities in the international scientific space, the author was allowed to analyze a number of indicators of scientific research activity, including publication activity, citation, Hirsch index, etc. Integration of Russian science into the international research sphere, expansion of the geography of international scientific cooperation, joint international scientific projects will allow the country to remain in the trend of modern research, and to consolidate success in the economic sphere. The conducted research proves that the universities of the Far East of Russia in recent years have made a sufficiently significant role in the international scientific space from the standpoint of scientific indicators generally accepted in international and Russian practice. Higher educational institutions are increasing their publication activity, publish works that are significant and in demand in the scientific community, as evidenced by the dynamics of the indicators of publication activity, citation and the Hirsch index. The importance of ongoing research, the use of the result of scientific activity in the process of creating new scientific knowledge allows us to solve applied problems in the interests of the development of modern economy and society. The materials of the article can serve as a basis for analyzing the research activities of universities.
